She Was Here

Dear Reader!

This is my sister. Isn’t she just darling?!

She died when she was just 17 months old. Today, July 22, would have been her 49th birthday.

My parents, me, Joseyann, and Alexi

I’ve always wondered so many things about her like:

  • Would she look like me?
  • Would we be close, inseparable even?
  • How would my life been better for having her in it?
  • Why her, not me?

Today, I just wanted to make a small footnote in the continuum of life that Joseyann Elizabeth was here.

I wish she still was…

Happy Birthday, Joseyann Elizabeth!

Call to action: Is there anyone you need to remember?

  1. Joseyann was here, and you have a memory of her in your heart. I bet you would have been very close, and she would be lucky to have a sister like you. Life is fleeting and so uncertain that we should have more gratitude for each new day.

  2. Wow, great tribute to our sister. I also think of our sister often and wonder how different our family might of been had she still been here. Maybe we would all be closer. I never knew her birthday thanks for that information.

    1. The closeness of an entire family is too much to place on one person. If she were here, it would still be up to each of us, individually, but she definitely would add another layer.

  3. As her mother I miss her every day. However, I find comfort in knowing that she is safe in the arms of her grandmother and Jesus. Remember his words suffer the little children to come unto me.

Janine, thank you for the tribute and for remembering her 49th birthday. Please remember that you are here for a purpose. God does not make mistakes. I strongly believe that we will all see her again.

  4. Thank you for this tribute to our sister. I always make point of remembering her and somehow I feel like she is still present making miracles happen in our lives.
