What One Sentence Could Save the World?

What one sentence could change the world for the better IF it was embraced and written indelibly on the hearts and minds of EVERY living human being?

I vote for this one:

Let there be such oneness between us, when one cries, the other tastes salt. ~ Rossabella Believe

Why?

Because truth is simple.

Because truth is powerful.

Because truth is human.

Because when truth speaks, there is nothing that needs to be added or taken away.

I am fully aware that the evidence of human history is likely proof that my choice is an improbable dream!

But it is still a worthy one, because dreams can save a great many of us, or, at the very least, provide a psychological safe haven.

And in any case, what else can we do but continue to strive faithfully, in spite of our grief and despair and disappointments, in our OWN daily lives to bring our dreams of a better world into reality.

  1. I love your choice. It echoes the prayer of Jesus that I have been studying recently in John 17:20-23.

” I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one, as you are in me, Father and I am in you. And may they be in us so the world will believe that you have sent me. I’ve given him the glory you gave me so that they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity with the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.”

    I choose this one too!

  2. I am reminded of the line that goes like this “The truth shall set you free.” However, sometimes the truth does get you killed or punished. So you might question: Does it really set you free? I believe that it does, because when you tell the truth regardless of the consequences it makes you feel good about yourself and free of spirit.

Just imagine what this world will be like if everyone told the truth.

    • If every living soul told the TRUTH with KINDNESS, we might finally become worthy of the breath of life we have been given. I think this is a good dream!

And while there may negative consequences to telling the truth with kindness, there is always the positive value of living whole-heartedly in line with our truest value. This most valuable and telling when there is the possibility of great loss or sacrifice.

  3. Sigh. My comment was deemed too short, but what else is there to say, truth and love in an age of hate and lies seems almost distant.
